About Us

Nic O'Neill

Hey everyone, I have been spending the better part of the last 15 years involved in the kiting industry. From leadership roles to industry, retail, and promotional. I was heavily focused on advocacy, stewardship, and capturing the amazing community that is out there.

Generally it has been a one woman show (with some support at times). I would film, edit, and publish videos on several channels along with a print and digital magazine, a podcast, a weekly newsletter, webinars, camps, meetups, and countless other free resources for the community I love so dearly.  The time came for me to take a little break and do something a bit different.

While I will continue to support the kite community, I am going to turn some of my efforts towards more creative endeavors and personal passions such as adventure motorcycles, documentaries, and my lifelong love of travel and being outdoors.

By day and trade I have a few jobs.

I am a Risk-Based-Inspection Analyst and Corrosion Inspector. It is fully remote, and something that I can do anywhere in the world.

On the side I am a coach for a local sports team, and I teach roller skating. I have been coaching and instructing in some capacity for 25 years with various national accreditations. It is a lifelong passion of mine, and I am always working to hone my craft.

Additionally I volunteer as a Marine Search & Rescue and Ropes Rescue tech for the local Fire Department.

Rally

Rally and Nic share a birthday, just 41 years apart. Born in May of 2024, it was in February of 2025 that the two of them met at the Whidbey Island Animal Shelter and left that day on a camping trip together. At the shelter his name was 'Teemo', and we were determined to figure out a new name together.

While on a beach in sideways wind with a storm blowing in the name came. 'Rally'. Partly because of the new found love of Nic for off-road motorcycle rally's, but also for the meaning behind the word 'To Rally'.

Likewise, there is a sublime moment when loading up to go camping and you tell your pup 'Rally up'.

He is finding his way in the world and figuring out how to grow into the massive feet of his. Such a great boy who just loves to be doing whatever Nic is doing. Whether that is riding on the back of the Tenere 700, running alongside on the trail, camping, riding in a boat, camping, or reading a good book by the fire.

He has been the inspiration for the start of this channel.
